WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text strings that a website can send, while browsing, to your device (be it a PC, a notebook, a smartphone, a tablet; they are usually stored directly on the browser used for browsing). The same website that transmitted them, then can read and record the cookies that are on the same device to obtain various types of information. Which? For each type of cookie there is a clearly defined role.
HOW MANY TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?
There are two basic categories: technical cookies and profiling cookies.
Technical cookies are generally necessary for the proper functioning of the website and to allow browsing. Without them you may not be able to view the pages correctly or use some services. For example, a technical cookie is essential to keep the user connected during the entire visit to a website, or to memorize the language settings, the display, and so on. Technical cookies can be further divided into:
navigation cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies only when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site.
functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse based on a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same.
The profiling cookies have the task of profiling the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the same during its navigation.
Cookies can still be classified as:
session cookies, which are deleted immediately when the browser is closed;
persistent cookies, which – unlike session cookies – remain inside the browser for a specific period of time. They are used, for example, to recognize the device that connects to the site, facilitating authentication operations for the user.
first-party cookies (first-part cookies) or cookies generated and managed directly by the manager of the website on which the user is browsing.
third-party cookies (third-part cookies), which are generated and managed by subjects other than the operator of the website on which the user is browsing (in force, as a rule, of a contract between the website owner and the Part Three).
WHAT COOKIES DO ITP Italian Technology Products srl use?
“Functional” cookies are used to provide services or to remember settings to improve your visit and experience on our site.
“Statistical” cookies collect information on how you use our website and our services, for example which pages you visit, and any errors you may encounter. These cookies are completely anonymous and are used only to help us improve how our site works and understand the interests of visitors.
“Monitoring” cookies are linked to services provided by third parties, such as “like” and “share” and monitor the effectiveness of advertising.
COOKIES FOR MARKETING / RETARGETING
These allow you to provide an advertising information service of greater interest to the user, showing products similar to those you have looked at previously, through the acquisition of information derived from the user’s navigation and the use of some services offered. The use of these cookies does not imply the processing of personal data but may allow the recognition of your computer or other devices.
How to disable cookies?
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can also choose not to accept them. It is advisable not to disable this function as this may prevent you from moving freely from page to page and enjoying all the peculiarities of the site. If you do not want your computer to receive and store cookies, you can change the security settings of your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari etc.).
